Zach decided to do The Catch in his bunker gear today and still managed to beat everybody.  Michelle and I did an Epic this morning as we wanted to go long.  Well actually I wanted to go long and I brought Michelle with me.  It was an 800 meter run (she ran 400) 100 snatches with a 36 (18), a 1000 meter row, 50 double unders (she jumped over a small ball) and 50 air squats for 3 rounds.  When she looked at it on the board she said, "That looks like pain."  Sounds like the perfect name.  I was done in 52 something and she finished in 57.

Huge ouch factor here and an amazing performance by Alex holding Zach to a tie.  Alex was at front toward the end but Zach did all 25 push presses in one go and caught up with fast situps and faster pullups.  Great race.

Evil really is.  When it's Got air and you add the 10 pullups and the 400 run you get a bit of a break.  But with Evil the front squats just keep sneaking up on you and making you miserable.  That was easy and fast for Zach and even faster for Lance who smoked even the speedster Zach on this one.  Chalk one up for the half century age folks.

Once again Zach wore the target and though Jesse was all over him in the first round, in fact he was in front of him for a bit, after the second round everyone was playing chase the Zach.  Lance's 9:14 on another day would be ahead of the crowd but Zach and Jesse had a gear none of the rest of us have.

This Iron Legs workout is horrible.  I suck at lunges anyway, just plain old walking lunges.  Adding weight to what is already hard is silly.  So we added 70 pounds...well, except for Alex, he added 80.  Sarah chased me the whole time and almost beat me.  Soon I will list as part of my goal set to be sure to beat Sarah in a given workout.  Zach's time is just crazy talk.  He beat me by 10 minutes.

Zach blew us out of the water again but Sarah was the surprise of the day.  I need to give that girl more weight.  I keep underestimating how much she can move.  It was a gorgeous day, perfect for this workout but the runs were uncomfortably hard.  Zach made sure of that.

Grace.  That little slice of heaven.  I find her to be something just a few steps past horrible and last time she put me down for 2 weeks.  Tweaked my back on #29.  I opted for 125 and got through it OK this time.  Little Sarah was crazy fast at 3:34...she was much too strong for 35 lbs.  Zach only weighs about 150 so he was doing 15 lbs under his bodyweight...that's like Lance and me doing 160.  I would be there all night with that much.

Sunday May 9th

Zach made up a 15:11 workout that consisted of 30 TGUs with a 36, 40 Landmine squat clean/jerks, 50 meter sled drag, 40 hammer hits and 30 man hole lifts with rolling thunder.  Fun.  Steve made up his own too: 10 ring pushups, bench press, 10 KB curls and 1 round of absurdity (10 hollow rock, 20 flutter kicks, 10 situps) for 10 rounds and it took him an hour.  Killer.

Alex threw this on a board: Run 400, 15 Presses, 10 Power Cleans, 5 Deadlifts, 10 Band Runs, 15 Dead Hang Pullups and wanted to do it for 4 rounds.  He wound up doing 3 and it took 37:23.  Another great (but of course by great I mean horrible) invention for the rest of us to try.  The progeny of Lance and Steven filled the gym...well, except for Michael.  Lance had Alex Sarah and Steve brought Joey, Alex and Michael.  Oh and Zach, he's a youngin himself and doesn't have any kids.  Anyway Clan Lance and Clan Steven filled the gym and did amazing adult sized work in adult times.  Great performances.  At work tonight I did a crash out near Yelm and had to go 4-bell from there to Kent for a SWAT callout and then when I was home changing I had to go to Bonney Lake for another DUI.  Burned up nearly a whole tank of gas.  Busy night.

We did Tabata Squats and Tabata Push Press with a 45 lb bar to start this morning with maybe 4 minutes rest in between.  That's a lot of work done in 8 minutes of effort.  After that we did 6 rounds of Turkish Bear done in pairs.  The idea was that one guy does a TGU and the other a Bear and then you switch for a total of 6 Bears and 3 TGU with each arm.  In the afternoon the hands down Wow remark goes to 15 year old Sarah who, in her 2nd serious workout, did the 300 in 20 minutes.  While she pounded away at that Steve and Jennifer B. did Give and Take and Lance and Alex did the 2nd Renaissance.
